Feeling Hopeless and Broken?
Feeling hopeless and broken? Not sure where to turn or what to do to pick yourself up and get your life back on track? You are definitely not alone, and there are many people who have been in the exact situation you are in right now.
The good news is, no matter how pointless life feels right now, there are lots of positive steps you can take to turn things around and start enjoying life again. Here are just some ways:
Change your environment
Sometimes, getting out of your usual environment and spending time in a new place with new people can help you to break bad habits and see life in a whole new light. If you stay in the same place, things are likely to stay the same, but shifting your space can shift your mindset, so maybe take a trip or visit someplace you do not usually frequent.
Talk it through
Talking to someone who is willing to listen to your non-judgementally can make a huge difference when you feel hopeless and broken. Just getting those tough emotions out there and letting another person know how tough it is for you can feel like a release. Not only that but when you feel hopeless, having someone who will listen and give you good advice can really turn things around.
Connect with peers
Connecting with peers who truly understand what you are going through, or who have been there themselves and come out of the other side, can give you so much hope that your life can be better. They can show you that you are not irreparably broken. It can also lead to new and healthy friendships and lifelong bonds that will help to hold you high.
Connect with YOUR Heavenly Father
Connecting with God, when you feel it’s hopeless, and turning your struggles over to Him can help you to regain control. It can seem like a strange thing to say that giving your struggles over to God can do that, but it helps to free you from your past and feel supported with forging a path towards a better future, which is so valuable.
Appreciate the good things in life
Overcoming hopelessness, and overcoming brokenness, are both things that are possible when you take the time to appreciate what is good in life. From the beauty of the sunset to the good friends you have in your life, the more gratitude you express, the harder it will be to feel like life is totally devoid of hope and meaning. Then, you can start to heal.
If you are feeling hopeless and broken, and you think you could use some help and support to get you through, the team here at Rock Bottom Hope are ready and waiting to hear from you.
